Why would you consider a touch-free faucet for your home?
Most of public rest rooms are equipped with touch free electronic faucets- in airports, in hospitals and clinics, in big malls, in restaurants. It is made for convenience but more for hygiene of a big flow of people.
Touch free electronic faucet can be used in a residential bath room as well and more and more homes install this type of equipment.

Solving the problem the easy way.
In our personal case it saves lots of water, as my 81 year old mother used to leave water in her bathroom running (she was just forgetting to close the faucet) and water was running and running for hours. This case made us to install a touch less faucet in her bathroom.
People sometimes paraphrase an Arab proverb: If Mohammed won't come to the mountain, the mountain must come to Mohammed, meaning that if something cannot or will not happen the easy way, then sometimes it must be done the hard way.
In the case with my mother, we had it the classic way: if the mountain won't come to Mohammed, Mohammed must go to the mountain, since it was much easier to solve the problem this way, than arguing with Mom about her forgetfulness.
If you have little kids in the house, then installing a touch less faucet would be a good idea too.
